A unique and unrepeatable blend; a creation that combined art and wine
In 2021 Achaval Ferrer invited us to discover a unique and unrepeatable edition of Quimera; on that occasion the winemaker surprised everyone with a blend that read wine as design and architecture conceived from the vineyard.
As every year, Gustavo Rearte had set out to create an impossible wine. That is how Achaval Ferrer Quimera Granito 2015 came about, an exclusive collection of 2,700 bottles, a work of art that questioned the limits of perfection.
The name of this bottling, Achaval Ferrer Quimera Granito 2015, pays tribute to the soil and to the rocks of volcanic origin found throughout the Finca Altamira vineyard, the terroir of the winery located in La consulta.
Taking this soil as inspiration, Tachuela, a renowned artist and sculptor from Mendoza, was invited to create a unique piece by intervening a rock located on the estate.
In this way, we could say that both winemaker and sculptor have worked the stone meticulously, in search of the perfect work.
